Economy and Business : China to provide US $ 3 billion to Turkmenistan for development of Southern Yoloten gas field
The People's Republic of China will provide a purpose loan worth US $ 3 billion to Turkmenistan for commercial development of Southern Yoloten gas field. An agreement to this effect was reached during talks on cooperation in the energy sphere held by the delegation of Turkmenistan in Beijing. Vice-Prime Minister Tachberdi Tagyev informed the president of Turkmenistan about this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports.
Two new "river-sea" vessels with the capacity of 7 tons for transportation of oil products will soon be available to the "Turkmendenizderyaellary" department, which has entered into a contract with Russian JSC "Plant Krasnoye Sormovo" for the construction and purchase of these vessels.

The Doctor of Historical Sciences, Academician of Russian Academy of Sciences, laureate of the International Prize of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli, honorary citizen of Turkmenistan, Professor Victor Sarianidi handed more than 50 new archaeological finds to the museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. The finds were made during the spring season of excavations in the ancient country of Margush by the joint Turkmen-Russian expedition under his leadership.

U.S. companies would like to get involved in all areas of work within the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan, be it investment projects, construction of facilities or provision of services for companies in Turkmenistan. This was stated by Deputy Director for Russia and Eurasia of the U.S. Department of Energy, Meryl Burpoe, in an interview with TDH. She attended the workshop titled "pipeline integrity and management" held yesterday for representatives of Turkmen state-owned enterprises and departments of the oil and gas sector.
