President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Director General of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Jacques Diouf.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Marathon Oil Corporation top managers at the Plaza Hotel – the residence of the Turkmen leader in New York.

In mid August this year the Government of Turkmenistan and the UN agencies accredited to the country signed the 2010-2015 United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF). The new programme as the previous one is particularly aimed at achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by Turkmenistan. It was developed in compliance with the priorities specified in the National Programme Strategy of Economic, Political and Cultural Development of Turkmenistan till 2020. Signing this new medium-term programme approved by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov coincided with summing up the implementation of the United Nations Millennium Declaration.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the afternoon.
