In mid August this year the Government of Turkmenistan and the UN agencies accredited to the country signed the 2010-2015 United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF). The new programme as the previous one is particularly aimed at achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by Turkmenistan. It was developed in compliance with the priorities specified in the National Programme Strategy of Economic, Political and Cultural Development of Turkmenistan till 2020. Signing this new medium-term programme approved by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov coincided with summing up the implementation of the United Nations Millennium Declaration.

Last week’s events testify to progressive dynamics in the strategic fields of Turkmenistan’s development and international partnership. The course towards modernization and ongoing reforms lay the firm foundation for accelerating national social and economic progress, intensifying industry and implementing the boldest ideas and projects.
