President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the head of Huawei Technologies Ms. Sun Yafan at the residence in the Diaoyutai Guest House in Beijing.

Expressing gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the opportunity of a personal meeting Ms. Sun Yafan cordially greeted Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the Chinese land. Briefing on the company’s activities and priorities of development the guest noted that Huawei Technologies ranked among three world’s leaders in communication technologies. She emphasized that about 85 percent of the company personnel in Turkmenistan – local specialists. Ms. Sun Yafan thanked the Turkmen leader for supporting the large-scale joint projects and reaffirmed the company’s exceptionally active interest in expanding long-term co-operation with Turkmenistan.

Huawei Technologies has been operating on the Turkmen market since 1999 and actively collaborates in development the sphere of communication in Turkmenistan. A number of the large-scale projects were implemented under the contracts concluded with the Chinese company.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked Ms. Sun Yafan for the effective activities of the company, which ranked among Turkmenistan’s long-term and dependable partners in developing the country’s telecommunication infrastructure.

The sides considered the opportunities of intensifying partnership to address the priorities of Turkmenistan’s social and economic development and the company’s willingness to expand on the Turkmen market. Ms. Sun Yafan suggested considering the opportunities of applying Huawei solar-assisted e-learning technologies via satellite communication.

Showing keen interest in the proposals the Turkmen President suggested that Huawei Technologies would deliver the equipment consuming solar energy to render reliable communication services in the hard-to-reach areas, under highlands and desert conditions. The Turkmen leader focused on Turkmenistan’s interest in the solar-assisted e-learning project. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmenistan was ready to purchase this equipment after it would be tested under local conditions. The Turkmen leader also suggested using Huawei equipment to render communication services in railway transport.

Upon concluding the talks the President thanked the Huawei CEO for the constructive proposals and called for further intensifying the business mutually advantageous contacts with a world’s leader in the sphere of communication.
