The ministry of motor transportation of Turkmenistan will sign a US $ 4,862 million contract with Hyundai Corp. for the purchase of intercity buses. Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree to this effect, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat.

The contract provides for supply of 30 Hyundai Universe Luxury и Hyundai Universe Noble intercity buses for the total sum of US $ 4,420 million and spare parts and consumables worth US $ 442 thousand.

It should be recalled that in the course of the Turkmen-Korean talks in Ashgabat this May the president of Turkmenistan signed a resolution authorizing the purchase of Hyundai buses for testing in different regions of Turkmenistan. It was then reported that if tests proved positive Turkmenistan would purchase another 491 units of Hyundai vehicles worth US $ 41,258 million and spare parts and consumables worth US $ 4,125,800 million. The total cost of the purchase should total US $ 46,318,250 million.

The president of Turkmenistan visited the city of Ulsan as part of his visit to South Korea this November. He got acquainted with operations of the shipbuilding and bus plants of Hyundai Corp.
