A direct train ferry link between Turkmenbashi and Baku will be resumed. An agreement to this effect was signed on 28 November on the result of talks between presidents of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan in Ashgabat, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports. Ilham Aliyev arrived in the Turkmen capital on his first official visit.

Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan also singed an intergovernmental agreement on the shipment of cargo, the use and numbering of cargo carriers and containers, and payments for their use on the international train ferry link via the ports of Turkmenbashi and Baku.

"There is a vast potential in the Caspian region for building up cooperation in the sphere of transport. The agreements signed are the real activities and projects," the president of Azerbaijan said addressing journalists.
