Cotton growers of Turkmenistan harvested 1000011 tons of cotton by 15 December. 35 cotton processing plants of the Turkmencotton state concern are currently processing newly harvested cotton. More than 460 thousand tons of cotton have been processed since the start of the campaign. Final payments are being made to cotton growers in the fields.

Cotton ginneries of Akhal, Mary and Lebap provinces are the frontrunners in processing of the new harvest of cotton. Big volumes of cotton were also processed at ginneries of Serdarabad, Babadayhan, Mary, Karakum, Yolatan, Murgap and Gerogly districts.

The improvement of the material-technical basis of cotton growers has in many respects contributed to high yields of cotton. By the decree of the head of state, the Turkmencotton state concern purchased 100 special MAZ cars, 200 MTZ-82.1 tractors and over 1000 trolleys from the Tashkent plant of farm equipment, the Turkmencotton said.
