Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a number of resolutions at a government meeting on May 12. The documents order the reconstruction of two cinemas and the building of the Turkmen State Circus together with an underground motor tunnel in Ashgabat. The reconstruction should start this May.

The ministry of culture, TV and Radio will act as a principal of the reconstruction, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat. The ministry will sign a US $ 12 million contract with Turkish company Doganay Yapy Proze we Insaat Tijaret LTD. STI, winner of the international tender held earlier, for the reconstruction of Watan cinema in Ashgabat, the Turkmen president's press service said. This company will also reconstruct Turkmenistan cinema at a total cost of US $ 8 million. The reconstruction should be completed in November 2009.

According to another resolution signed by the Turkmen president, the ministry of culture, TV and Radio, will sign a US $ 17,9 million contract with Turkish company Sahturkmen Insaat Gyda Tekstil we Otomotiw Sanayi Tijaret LTD STI for the reconstruction of the Turkmen State Circus, located in one of the central avenues of Ashgabat, and installation of modern equipment in it. Other than this, an underground motor tunnel running close to the circus will be also reconstructed. The reconstruction should finish in October 2009.
