Siemens AG and Gotz&Partner offer to develop 15-year programme of cooperation with Turkmenistan

On June 9, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received executive advisor to the CEO of Siemens AG Rudi Lamprecht along with Goetz & Partner CEO Stephan Goetz and staff member Hans Gerd Prodel. The guests offered to develop a master plan of cooperation for the near 10-15 or more years.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov supported this proposal and noted that "Turkmenistan would provide all possible assistance in this regard," the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat.

During the meeting, the sides highlighted promising areas of cooperation such as energy, transport communications, textile industry, including relevant infrastructure.

"Turkmenistan, possessing a sufficient resource base, has every chance not only to fully meet its domestic needs in construction materials but also become a biggest exporter of construction materials," the guests said talking about partnership in the sphere of construction.

The sides paid particular attention to cooperation in the sphere of science and education, training of staff and establishment of close contacts between technical universities of Turkmenistan and Germany.

After the meeting, the guests visited a newly built children's health center called Nebitchi built in Geokdere place. The center has been staffed with computer equipment supplied by Siemens.

"Turkmenistan gives preference to high-technologies and will continue purchasing high quality and reliable computer equipment of the well-known Siemens brand," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
