Turkmenistan-Russia: towards intensifying mutually advantageous co-operation The forum Prospective Fields of Turkmen-Russian Co-Operation is opened in Ashgabat. A Russian delegation representing the large companies including Stroytrans, Lukoil, the Ermak mining and smelting plant, the Metals of Eastern Siberia, Gazprombank arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the forum. On the first day of the visit the Russian delegation had the talks with the Government of Turkmenistan, the senior officials of the fuel and energy departments that showed Russian business’s intense interest in maintaining the close business contacts with Turkmen partners in the strategic fuel and energy sector as well. Focusing on the profound potential of the Turkmen market the guests reaffirmed the willingness top collaborate in the large-scale projects implemented in Turkmenistan in a number of the priority fields. The forum aimed at specifying the concrete steps towards intensification of Turkmen-Russian co-operation is to offer a powerful incentive to develop mutually advantageous partnership and to effectively employ the existing economic potential that meets the interests of both friendly countries.
