Economy and Business : South Korea plans to develop hydrocarbon fields on Turkmen shelf of Caspian Sea
The Republic of Korea is setting up a special consortium of the country's largest companies to develop oil and gas fields on the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea, the South Korean minister of economic knowledge, Li Young Ho, said during a meeting with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Astana on July 6.
The investment project aimed at developing the gas infrastructure: construction of a gas processing plant that is to supply gas to the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline was started in the Samandepe field on the right bank of the Amu Darya River.

The state commodity and raw materials exchange of Turkmenistan registered 34 contracts last week, TurkmenBusiness.org website reports. The total cost of contracts is US $ 340,481 million.
