Turkmeagro-2008: local producers offer the best

In a few days Ashgabat will host the Turkmenagro-2008 International Exhibition and Conference. The forthcoming forum is event of remarkable significance for developing Turkmenistan’s agricultural sector and achieving the goals of the agricultural reform implemented in the country, first of all. The local agricultural specialists make all necessary preparation to organize the large-scale exposition and to meet foreign guests.


The winners of the contest announced by the Food Industry Association of Turkmenistan among the local producers of livestock products will arrange their pavilions at Turkmenagro-2008. The labour collectives of 15 dairies and 8 meat processing and packing factories participated in the contest. The section of milk products presented various sorts of cheese, vegetable oil, whole-milk and cultured milk foods. The producers of smoked and cooked and boiled sausages and canned meat competed in the nomination of meat products. Evaluating the taste properties of the samples the expert commission took the decisions on the basis of the laboratory tests. The important criteria included the marketable style, in particular packing design.

The winners of the contest were announced in each nomination. Thus, Bayramali JSC and Suyt JSC (Ashgabat) were the best dairy producers, VAS JSC (Dashoguz), Merv JSC (Mary) and Altyn Halka Enterprise (Ashgabat) – the best meat product manufacturers. The winners received the monetary prizes.
