Volgograd's tractor plant to supply US $ 40 million worth of equipment to Turkmenistan

Agromash Holding company will supply one thousand tractors worth US $ 40 million to Turkmenistan in the beginning of 2009, the Volgograd's administration press service said. It is reported that the contract amounts to a half year production of the Volgograd Tractor Plant.

The contract was signed at a meeting between Turkmen deputy prime minister Myratgeldi Akmammedov and deputy governor of Volgograd region Vladimir Kabanov on the sideline of the Russian National Exhibition in Ashgabat.

It is also reported that Turkmen ministers have demonstrated strong interest to drop irrigation equipment produced by the plant. Management of Agromash Holding signed a protocol of intention with the Turkmen side providing for supply of 167 pump stations worth US $ 4,5 million. Equipment was ordered by the ministry of water management and the ministry of agriculture of Turkmenistan.
