Turkmenistan to buy Hyundai city buses

During the Turkmen-Korean talks in Ashgabat on May 16, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on the purchase of Hyundai city buses. The decree signals Turkmenistan's readiness to expand a dialogue with Korean partners, the Turkmen State News Agency (TDH) reports. The head of state noted that in case of successful adaptation of vehicles to local climate conditions Turkmenistan would purchase up to 500 Hyundai city buses.

Under the decree, the ministry of motor transportation of Turkmenistan is to sign a contract with Korean Hyundai corporation for the purchase of 10 Hyundai New Super Aero City buses worth US $ 934,450 and spare parts for them worth US $ 84,950 for the purpose of testing the buses in different climate conditions of various regions of Turkmenistan, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat quoting the press service of the head of state.

If the buses stand the test, Turkmenistan will buy 490 more buses totaling US $ 41,258 million and spare parts for them worth US $ 4,125,800 million. The cost of the contract will be US $ 46,318 million.
