The specialists of the Turkmengeologiya State Concern received a thick gas flow while testing well 1 in the Minara deposit in Yoloten Etrap, Mary Velayat. The new export gas pipeline Dowletabat-Sarakhs-Hangeran, the second pipeline to Iran, was officially commissioned at a ceremony in Serakhs district of Mary province of Turkmenistan on January 6.

The launching ceremony took place at the border village of Salyr Yap, the final point of the Turkmen section of the gas pipeline. The ceremony was attended by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of the Islamic Development Bank Ahmed Mohammed Ali Al-Madani, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Taner Yildiz, as well as representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, foreign businessmen and mass media.

The ceremony of signing the large of Southern Yoloten gas field in the east of the country took place in the Turkmen capital. In total, the agreements signed by Turkmengaz State Concern with the leading companies of South Korea, China and the United Arab Emirates amounted to US$ 9.7 billion.

The head of the Anglo-American company "Gaffney, Cline & Associates", Peter Gaffney, confirmed the assessment of huge natural gas reserves at the Turkmen field Southern Yoloten - Osman.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with President of China Hu Jintao in New York where the 64th session of the UN General Assembly is due to start today. The meeting was also attended by the delegations of both countries.

During the meeting the Turkmen leader informed the head of China that the construction of the Turkmenistan - China gas pipeline is carried out according to the schedule, and that it will be completed in the required time, the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) said. He invited President Hu to attend the pipeline opening ceremony.
