The Turkmen leader also said that he was happy to welcome the leader of Kazakhstan as an honorary guest to the ceremony that would take place upon finishing the Silk Road-200 Rally that would cross the territories of three countries and become a symbol of unshakable friendship among the peoples of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Russia. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov informed that this ceremony would take place in Balkan Velayat in the first half of September.

The sides touched upon the preparations for the coming Ashgabat-Kazan Rally and focused on the significance of this important action that went beyond the framework of a sporting event. The Presidents noted that the route of the off-road rally was to symbolize the indissoluble ties of friendship and good neighbourliness that bound the peoples of Turkmenistan, Russia and Kazakhstan from ancient times. In this regard Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited Dmitriy Medvedev to pay a visit to Turkmenistan and time it to the date of the finish of the unprecedented off-road marathon

Viktor Yushchenko would visit Turkmenistan this September. At the invitation of the Turkmen leader the President of Ukraine would attend the ceremony of putting the railway bridge across the Amu Darya River into operation. The bridge was constructed by the Ukrainian companies.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov paid an official visit to the Republic of Croatia on June 26. The high-ranking officials of the Mejlis and cabinet ministers bade cordial farewell to the Turkmen leader at the Ashgabat International Airport.
