Tourism and Culture : Three new schools and new department of Turkmen Makhtumkuli State University inaugurated in Turkmenistan

Three new schools and a new physical and mathematical department of the Turkmen Makhtumkuli State University were inaugurated in Ashgabat on the first day of the new academic year. New facilities were built by Turkish companies Polimeks and Bashyazyjyoglu Inshaat and French Bouygues company.

Economy and Business : Ulyanovsk plants to increase supplies to Turkmenistan

Ulyanovsk plants have secured agreements on increasing the supply of their products to Turkmenistan. The agreements were reached during the Russian National Exhibition in Ashgabat on August 29-31, the press service of the Ulyanovsk region administration said.

Economy and Business : Volgograd's tractor plant to supply US $ 40 million worth of equipment to Turkmenistan

Agromash Holding company will supply one thousand tractors worth US $ 40 million to Turkmenistan in the beginning of 2009, the Volgograd's administration press service said. It is reported that the contract amounts to a half year production of the Volgograd Tractor Plant.

Politics : Viktor Zubkov inaugurates Russian Gubkin Oil and Gas University branch in Ashgabat

On 31 August, Russian first deputy prime minister Victor Zubkov attended an inauguration ceremony of the Russian Gubkin Oil and Gas University (RGU) branch in Ashgabat as well as a ceremony that bid farewell to Turkmen students admitted by various Russian higher educational establishments.
