During the official visit to the Republic of Austria President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received CEO of the world-renowned Austrian OMV petroleum company Dr Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer.

Thanking for the opportunity of a personal meeting the top manager of the largest petroleum company in Central Europe congratulated the Turkmen leader on the results of the top level talks and expressed belief that the Turkmen leader’s visit would be the prologue a new stage in the history of the traditionally friendly relations between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Austria.

Greeting the guest Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the Turkmenistan was always open for mutually advantageous co-operation on the equal basis and stood ready to maintain the active dialogue with all partners concerned including the EU member states willing to establish full-scale co-operation with Turkmenistan in various fields, in particular energy sector.

The guest noted that the European community including Austria welcomed Turkmenistan’s energy policy aimed at fundamental technology modernization of the sector and diversification of energy export to the world markets and the initiative to adopt the UN special resolution on the guarantees of security of transnational pipelines put forward by the leader of the Turkmen state and recognized worldwide as timely and topical.

Focusing on the company’s intense interest and willingness to establish mutually advantageous co-operation Dr Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer put emphasis on the perspectives of the Turkmen market and the incentives offered to foreign business including the favourable investment climate, political stability and huge reserves of hydrocarbon resources proved by independent experts.

In this regard the Austrian businessman informed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of the work done since their last meeting and the effective steps the company had taken to establish closer business contacts with Turkmen partners.

Thanking Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the opportunity to discuss the aspects of co-operation during the personal meeting Dr Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer assured the Turkmen leader that the OMV Company would spare no effort to establish long-term partnership with Turkmenistan which had won the worldwide reputation of a dependable and competent business partner.
