The Ashgabat-based UN Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia is planning to implement a number of specific projects on combating international crime and drug trafficking in the region, on efficient use of water and energy resources, as well as on the situation in Afghanistan. The head of the center, special assistant of the UN Secretary General, Miroslav Jenca, shared these plans in an interview with Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper on 24 December.

"The center is planning to implement a number of projects in the near future, including issues related to the water-energy sector, training preventive diplomacy specialists of the Central Asian countries. The cooperation with the National Institute for Strategic Planning, political scientists and experts will be also one of the important aspects of work of the regional center," M. Jenca said.
