International conference on stable transit of energy scheduled for 23-24 April in Ashgabat A high-level international conference titled "Reliable and Stable Transit of Energy and Role of Energy in Sustainable Development and International Cooperation" will be held in Ashgabat under the UN auspices on 23-24 April. The conference will discuss issues related to ensuring reliable and stable transit of energy to international markets and preparation of international normative documents to this effect. It should be recalled that 192 states supported unanimously Turkmenistan-initiated resolution "Reliable and Stable Transit of Energy" at the United Nations General Assembly last December. The resolution calls for creation of the energy security system and development of international-legal basis and efficient mechanisms of partnership, including protection of energy systems. Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution on holding the conference. The resolution approved a committee charged with organization of this forum, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat.
