President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev.

Greeting the Turkmen leader the RF President heartily and cordially congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the birthday and wished good health, happiness, every success in the important work and all noble undertakings.

Thanking Dmitriy Medvedev for the heartfelt congratulations and wishes Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan highly valued the relations of sincere friendship and close cooperation with Russia, which had been brought up to a higher level to meet its profound potential as well as mutual interests of the peoples of the two countries.

Reaffirming the reciprocal willingness to intensify strategic partnership in the whole spectrum of fields the sides discussed the progress in implementing the bilateral agreements, the priority fields of further constructive collaboration, in particular in the energy sector, and the international political issues of mutual interest.

The sides touched upon the preparations for the coming Ashgabat-Kazan Rally and focused on the significance of this important action that went beyond the framework of a sporting event. The Presidents noted that the route of the off-road rally was to symbolize the indissoluble ties of friendship and good neighbourliness that bound the peoples of Turkmenistan, Russia and Kazakhstan from ancient times. In this regard Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited Dmitriy Medvedev to pay a visit to Turkmenistan and time it to the date of the finish of the unprecedented off-road marathon

The invitation was accepted by the Russian leader with gratitude.

In conclusion the leaders of the two states exchanged the wishes of peace, happiness and wellbeing to the peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia.
