The airport with the capacity of 800 passengers per hour boasts a four-story passenger terminal, a 61-meter high control tower equipped with special equipment from Siemens and Thales, as well as VIP-building for distinguished guests, meetings and conferences.

The airport can receive 7 flights simultaneously and prepare 14 aircrafts for flight and operation, while ensuring the international standards of service. The runway can handle virtually all types of aircraft.

The authorities plan to turn the Turkmenbashi International Airport into a major transit hub, and use to the maximum extent the air port's favorable geographic location by creating here a free economic zone and lowering prices for aviation fuel for aircrafts performing transit flights over Turkmenistan.
