According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the construction of the gas pipeline is designed to, firstly, create a unified gas supply system in Turkmenistan, and, secondly, to diversify the supplies of Turkmen natural gas to international markets. The construction will be carried out by Turkmen enterprises using Turkmenistan's own funds.

"Turkmenistan, guided by clearly formulated principles of the energy strategy, realistic assessment of its own resource base and prospects of its use in the future, opted not to replace some energy supplies with other, not to change their geographic routes, but to expand and supplement them by reaching new promising markets. First of all, it is about significantly increasing natural gas exports to various states and regions of the world," the report said.

Today, Turkmenistan is developing mutually beneficial and long-term energy cooperation with different countries. Thanks to the verified and measured actions in world energy markets, the state now has reliable and long-term partners - Russia, China and Iran. The European direction also looks promising in Turkmenistan's energy strategy, the Foreign Ministry emphasized.
