Turkmen, Russian presidents inaugurate KAMAZ service center in Ashgabat The inauguration of KAMAZ retail and service center was held in Ashgabat on July 5. Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev, who is on the official visit in Ashgabat, and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the inauguration ceremony.
The Russian president said the opening of the new center served as "a powerful boost to the development of cooperation between our countries." "Undoubtedly, we have great prospects, first of all in the investment and trade spheres, as well as in the joint development of natural resources. Russia is open for such constructive and beneficial partnership," the Russian president said.
In turn, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to the Russian leadership, the president of Tatatstan and KAMAZ managers for providing support in setting up such important facility. The president of Turkmenistan said KAMAZ was one of the leading partners of Turkmenistan.
"These vehicles meet the highest standards, taking into consideration our climate conditions," the president noted. The Turkmen and Russian presidents viewed the center together with KAMAZ head Sergey Kogogin after the official ceremony.
The US $ 7 million service center was built by Turkmen construction companies on the order and at the expense of KAMAZ company. The center will service around 1,000 Kamaz automobiles a year.
Similar centers will be opened in Balkan and Mary provinces in future. The company said that some 7000 Kamaz vehicles were in operation in Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan is one the company's three leading purchasers among CIS countries.
