President of Turkmenistan familiarizes himself with new infrastructure projects in Ashgabat

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov toured Ashgabat and its vicinity on 4 December to get acquainted with new projects on construction of transport-communication, social-cultural and industrial facilities.

In the northern part of the Ashgabat ring road the head of state viewed drawing board models of a road bridge at the cross of the ring-road and the Ashgabat-Mary high way; a bridge in the southern part of Ashgabat; a bridge across Karakum canal; as well as a plan of landscaping the territory adjacent to Karakum canal.

The president also familiarized himself with a project on development of territories adjacent to motor roads under construction, as well as projects on construction of industrial facilities in northern Ashgabat such as a confectionery works and a glass factory.

The new projects also include a house of culture in Archman and a big market in Anau. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov issued instructions with regard to finding a proper place for these facilities and allocation of land for a new building of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism.

Having approved the proposed projects as a whole, the president made some revisions and recommendations on their refinement, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat quoting the press service of the head of state.

"All facilities being built in Turkmenistan should meet high criteria of quality and reliability and be in full compliance with international standards. They should represent latest achievements in sciences, technologies and design art," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
