President of Turkmenistan received Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Kadyrbek Sarbaev, who had arrived in Ashgabat to take part in the meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers.

Thanking for the opportunity of a personal meeting the guest conveyed the heartfelt greetings and written message of President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiev to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Kyrgyz leader’s wishes of peace, happiness and wellbeing to the Turkmen people. The head of the foreign ministry of the friendly country emphasized that Kyrgyzstan highly valued the ties of friendship with Turkmenistan and its achievements on the path of progressive reforms and changes.

Greeting the Kyrgyz guest the Turkmen leader said that the traditionally friendly relations between the Turkmen and Kyrgyz peoples rooted deeply in ancient times and both states had the goodwill and vast opportunities to further enhance mutually advantageous cooperation at the new historical stage.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on further trends in cooperation on a bilateral basis and in the framework of the CIS. Focusing on mutual interest in bringing this partnership at the qualitatively new and high level the President and his guest harmonized the particular steps to be taken for this purpose. In particular, the sides noted that the existing potential of bilateral cooperation enabled to build large-scale plans on its successful implementation.

They noting that Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan were bound with not only geographical closeness but also historical and cultural affinities of two peoples the sides focused on significance of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, in particular culture, education and science.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiev an invitation to pay a visit to Turkmenistan at any convenient time.

In conclusion the Turkmen leader noted that Turkmenistan was always glad to see its friends and wished success to the meeting of Council of CIS Foreign Ministers in Ashgabat.
