The ceremony of opening the international scientific conference The Role of Advanced Technologies in Improving the Education System and Modern Teaching Methods was held at the International Turkmen-Turkish University.

The scientific forum in Ashgabat brought together over 30 educational workers and scientists from 12 countries worldwide. The international scientific conference on application of advanced technologies in educational process is held concurrently with the International Computer Olympiad for schoolchildren that allows evaluating the effectiveness of the methodologies applied in this sphere.

Before opening the international scientific forum participants laid flowers to the Monument to Independence.

The heads of the research and scientific institutions and higher educational establishments of Turkmenistan, educational workers from all the regions of the country and students took part in the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the plenary meeting the scientists from India, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Chile, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Switzerland focused on the timeliness, topicality and positive role of the education reform initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The foreign guests highly appreciated the scale of the changes that took place in this sphere in the past two years. They were greatly impressed with large-scale construction of schools and highly educational establishments equipped with interactive and multimedia equipment and connected to the internet and preschool institutions and children’s health-improving centres throughout the country.

The participants noted that XXI century – the age of the global information community sets the specific demands to development of educational technologies making to search for new forms and methods of teaching. These issues were the focus of the discussions in two conference sessions during. The participants made the reports and presentations on development and introduction of new technologies in industry and improvement of the methods of teaching at schools and higher educational establishments.

The young programmers contesting in III International Computer Olympiad made presentations and defended their projects.
