Tourism and Culture : The new TV channel Turkmen Ovazy will open on January 1, 2009

The President of Turkmenistan issued the Resolution authorizing the Television Directorate General of Turkmenistan to establish Turkmen Ovazy Channel.

The new channel established “to popularize the best works created by bagshis, musicians, singers of the Turkmen people, present the accomplishments of our Motherland to the world community, propagate the development of the national culture and art, further increase the efficiency of the information system” is to start twenty-four-hour broadcasting on January 1, 2009.
