The Days of Korean Cinematography are first organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture and Radio and TV Broadcasting in Ashgabat.

Cinematography as one of the most popular kinds of art presents people with a splendid opportunity to get acquainted with the history, cultural traditions and life of different nations all over the world and thus helps people to know and understand one another better. The present-day Korean cinematography is an interesting phenomenon that the people and guests of the Turkmen capital who will visit Magtymguly Turkmen National Drama Theater can receive evidence of.

The programme of the two-day film festival includes the best films created by the Korean filmmakers in recent years such as the popular romantic comedy 2 Faces of My Girlfriend and the detective drama Joint Security Area. The film That Is the Home is returning to the spiritual roots, the understanding of the indissoluble relations between human beings and nature.

Though the films differ in the topics and genres what they gave in common is the desire to talk about the eternal human values such as peace and friendship, fidelity and love, lofty spiritual and modal ideals and the moral ideals and devotion to the Motherland.

Speaking at the opening ceremony the organizers expressed belief that this cultural action would promote furthering and expanding the friendly relations with fruitful humanitarian co-operation standing as a key factor between the peoples of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
