Exhibition of Turkmen and Russian painters opens in Ashgabat The Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan is hosting an exhibition which was organized by the Ministry of Culture, TV and Radio of Turkmenistan jointly with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ashgabat.
The exposition titled "Images of Women in the Fine Arts" displays over 100 works - scenic pictures, tapestries, ceramics, sculptures from the museum's depositories, as well as works by Turkmen painters educated in the Russian Federation.
Women are the main heroes of the exhibition. They are portrayed as guardians of the home hearth, workers who actively participate in all processes of social life. Canvases painted by Russian painters of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries are exhibited along with works by famous representatives of the Turkmen fine arts school such as Ayna Hajiyeva, Izzat Klychev, Stanislav Babikov, Yarly Bayramov, Shamuhamed Akmuhammedov and others.
A photo exhibition titled "Spring Motives" is also being held as part of the cultural action. It is made of works by the Russian embassy staff in Turkmenistan. The exposition will last until the end of March, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat.
