State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) Turkmenistan discovers Korean art of dance The people and guests of the Turkmen capital have an opportunity to get acquainted with the Korean art of dance. The Chae dancing group of the Chung Ang University (Korea) performed a concert at the Magtymguly Turkmen National Music and Drama Theatre to mark the first anniversary of opening the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan. The Korean Embassy to Turkmenistan and Ministry of Culture and Broadcasting Activities of Turkmenistan organized the cultural event.
For 14 years the Chae group plays on tour presenting one of the traditional kinds of Korean arts all over the world. The group is led by Professor Chae Hyang Sun of the Department of Dance of the College of Arts. The artists’ creative credo is to revive the traditional genres of Korean art of dance that reflects the ancient history and the spirit of the Korean people. The programme included the popular national dances performed to the accompaniment of the national musical instruments.
Opening the musical evening the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan noted that humanitarian co-operation was an important aspect of the Turkmen-Korean relations. The diplomat expressed belief that the creative event would enhance and develop the fruitful dialogue between Turkmenistan and Korea for the benefit of two fraternal nations.
The audience enjoyed the bright concert performed by the Chae group and the popular artists of Turkmenistan and awarded them with a storm of applause.
