New children's health centers, which were built in the resort place of Gekdere some 30 km from Ashgabat, will receive the first groups of children today.

The International Carpet Exhibition timed to the national holiday of Turkmenistan - Turkmen Carpet Day is closed in Ashgabat. The representative exposition included the best specimen of carpets and carpet articles, various household articles, women’s silver and gold wear and works of applied art created by the craftsmen from all over the country.

A gala-concert of young violinist of Mukam ensemble was held at the Palace of Mukam (Melody) of the National Cultural Center on May 17. The concert marked the 30th anniversary of the famous group of young violinists as well as the 50th anniversary of creative work and the 70th birthday of the ensemble's leader, people's artist of Turkmenistan Garold Neimark.

A new collection of selected works by Makhtumkuli Fragi will be presented at a literary-musical soiree in Moscow on May 15. The publication is timed to the 275th birthday of the classic of Turkmen literature. The book with a run of 3 thousand copies was prepared for publication by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation.
