New regional museums to be built in Balkanabat, Mary and Turkmenabat

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a number of resolutions at a government meeting on May 12. The documents authorize the construction of new regional museums in the administrative centers of three provinces, the cities of Balkanabat, Mary and Turkmenabat.

According to the resolutions, the ministry of culture, TV and Radio of Turkmenistan will sign contracts with Turkish companies, winners of international tenders, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat.

Sahturkmen Insaat Gyda Tekstil we Otomotiw Sanayi Tijaret LTD STI company will design and build a regional museum in Balkanabat city at a total cost of US $ 17,5 million, and Sedas Insaat Anonim Sirketi company will build a regional museum in Mary city worth US 18 million, while Injisel Insaat Ozel Saglyk Medikal Sanayi we Tijaret A.S company will build a regional museum in Turkmenabat city totaling US $ 17,5 million.

The construction should start this month. The museums should be commissioned in October 2009.
